The Shop'n Bake story — experience the taste of life
In 2005, a 15-year-old girl named Omotolani baked her first cake in a small kitchen in Lagos, Nigeria. It wasn't perfect — but it sparked a passion that never faded. Today that passion is Shop'n Bake, handcrafting cakes and treats for Winnipeg's celebrations.

Where it started
From that very first cake, baking became Omotolani's language of love, celebration, and connection. She began baking for birthdays, church events, and neighbours. Known as “Tola's Cakes,” her homemade treats quickly earned a reputation for quality and heart.
Building a business from scratch
Between 2007 and 2015, Omotolani balanced school, work, and baking. Despite challenges like unreliable electricity and limited supplies, she built a small business purely through word of mouth. Each cake was a lesson in patience, creativity, and commitment.
No fancy tools or formal training — just skill, grit, and a desire to make people happy through cake.
New country, same dream
Years later, Omotolani moved to Canada as a permanent resident. While studying Human Resource Management at the University of Winnipeg, she continued baking in her spare time. Friends and classmates loved her treats. Their words — “I'll pay for this!” — became the push she needed.
Shop'n Bake is born
In February 2023, Shop'n Bake officially launched in Winnipeg, Manitoba. What began in Nigeria became a fully registered business in Canada, built on passion, persistence, and faith.

Omotolani is a wife, mother, HR professional, and full-time entrepreneur. She's baked through snowstorms, long nights, and newborn care — all to deliver quality products with love.
Her story is one of resilience, growth, and dedication. Shop'n Bake is the fruit of her journey.
